Clear aligners, step by step
It starts with an intraoral scan from which the path of every tooth is planned digitally. From that plan a series of transparent trays is manufactured, and the patient changes tray every one or two weeks.
Fewer appointments in the chair
Against fixed braces, which need adjusting in the surgery frequently, aligners allow reviews to be spaced out and several trays handed over at once. For anyone living on the island only part of the year, that difference is what makes finishing the treatment feasible.
The part that depends on you
A tray only pushes the tooth while you are wearing it: twenty to twenty-two hours a day, out only to eat and to clean your teeth. Of everything that decides whether treatment finishes on the date planned, this is the one variable in your hands rather than ours.
Before any tooth is moved we check that the gums are healthy and there is no active decay.

Frequently asked questions about this treatment
01 How many hours a day do I need to wear the aligners?
Around 22 hours a day. They come out to eat and to brush. It is the factor that most determines whether the planned timeline is met.
02 Will people notice them?
They are clear and fit closely to the tooth, so they go unnoticed in normal interaction. There may be a slight speech adjustment in the first few days.
03 Are clear aligners suitable for my case?
For most crowding, spacing and alignment corrections, yes. Severe skeletal malocclusions may need a different approach. That is determined by the initial study.
04 What happens when treatment finishes?
A retainer is fitted, fixed or removable. Without retention teeth tend to drift back: the retention phase is not optional.
